Wojciech Brewka - "Pelican" from the series of bird portraits.
The featured work by Wojciech Brewka is the artist's characteristic portrait of a bird, in which color, expressive line and slightly ironic narrative create a highly evocative composition.
The central figure of the painting is a pelican with an elongated, almost sculptural beak, shown in a stylized and characterful manner. The artist uses a warm, contrasting color palette - dominated by shades of ochre, amber gold, browns and touches of turquoise and orange. This makes the composition vivid, energetic and immediately eye-catching.
The background, kept in light, slightly austere tones with dynamic spots and traces of painterly gesture, emphasizes the street-art energy of Brewka's work, while giving the work a light and contemporary feel.
Particularly noteworthy is the carefully selected frame - a wide, wooden frame in warm colors with an inner silver profile. The frame perfectly harmonizes with the palette of the painting, optically enlarges it and gives the whole picture an elegant, collectible character.
What is especially important for collectors:
THIS IS ONE OF FOUR PAINTINGS FORMING A COHESIVE SERIES BY WOJCIECH BREWKA.
THE OTHER THREE WORKS CAN BE PURCHASED IN THE GALLERY, FORMING A FULL SET - A QUARTET / SERIES OF FOUR PAINTINGS, WHICH PERFECTLY HARMONIZE WITH EACH OTHER AND CREATE A UNIQUE COMPOSITION ON THE WALL.
As a result, the painting can function both as a stand-alone, expressive work, as well as part of a larger, collectible whole, which in a set of four paintings creates a striking, coherent visual narrative.
Brewka's work is known for its bold colors, distinctive forms and a slight distance from reality - and it is these elements that make his works find their way well into contemporary interiors, adding energy and character.
Wojciech Brewka - color that plays first fiddle
Wojciech Brewka is an artist whose work is difficult to confuse with anyone else. His biggest trademark is color - intense, contrasting, energetic. It is through color that he builds emotion, tension and character in his works.
Color painter, street artartist , creator of large format murals, co-owner of Officyna Art & Design gallery and initiator of Przenikania festival . For years he has been active on the Warsaw art scene - both as an artist and as a cultural animator.
Heappeared on the art market with great dynamism - in 2013 he hit the auctions of young Polish art, where his expressive style quickly attracted the attention of collectors.
In his work, Brewka freely deconstructs classic genres of painting - portraiture, allegory or animalism - placing them against intense, contrasting backgrounds. His paintings often feature animals or figures in a perverse, ironic and sometimes social context.
However, it is color that is the true protagonist of his paintings. With saturated colors, strong juxtapositions and a bold palette, Brewka's paintings have an immediate effect - they catch the eye and give a space a unique character.
The artist is also eagerly involved in social, educational and charitable activities, and makes his creative space available to young artists, students and independent art initiatives.
Wojciech Brewka's work is painting full of energy - bold in color, with distance and character.
It is art that enlivens the interior and stays in the memory.
