The Fontanafredda estate enjoys an interesting history. Indeed, at one point in its existence, it was gifted by an Italian king to a woman whom he loved very much.... apparently, even then the quality and charm of this place was appreciated by the most important people in the country, and today we also know well about the winemaking potential of this crop.
However, the first wines were made here after the death of the said king. The producer's dedication to the work of the region was one of the reasons why Piedmont is now famous throughout the wine world.
The winery is located in Serralunga d'Alba and offers an extensive portfolio of wines, from decent everyday wines to exceptional fine wine. It uses both traditional techniques and more modern ones in winemaking. The wines are characterized by expressive character, rich body and strong structure. They are often aged in small barrels, which adds even more intensity. Many are ready to drink relatively quickly.
