TYPE III—plastic (galalite) chips with simple lettering. In 1932, the chips in use at the time were replaced with new ones. The reason for the change was the typeface (Schwabacher). This is because the casino’s guests were mostly citizens of countries outside the German-speaking world, for whom the Schwabacher script was difficult to read.
