Warsaw 1871. printed by Jan Psurski. Edited and edited by M. Dzikowski. 16x23.5 cm, pp. 84, 32, 36, hardback binding, half leather. Good condition (minor staining of pages, pencil notations on the endpapers).
An early, notebook form of one of Warsaw's oldest satirical magazines. Issued in 1871 as "humor and satirical sheets," with individual notebooks appearing under alternating titles( Thorns, Spurs, Scythe). The content consists of short satirical texts and moral and social commentaries, illustrated in places. The publication was created in the realities of the censorship of the Kingdom of Poland; the title and notebook experiment preceded the later regular edition of the weekly Spikes. A rare print from the early stages of the magazine's existence, important for the history of the Polish humor press of the 19th century.
