First edition of B. Leśmian’s poetry collection. The author was a Polish poet and prose writer, a leading figure in interwar literature, and a literary critic. He is considered the most innovative and original creative figure in 20th-century Polish literature; during his lifetime, however, he was described as an epigone of the Young Poland movement. He pioneered a new type of ballad and coined neologisms known as “Leśmianisms.”
