Porzellanfabrik Karl Ens was founded in 1899, but this was not the Ens family’s first porcelain business. Karl Ens (Sr.) founded “Triebner, Ens & Co.” in 1860. In 1899, he left the partnership to start a new business, which quickly gained a good reputation for producing high-quality products. The company’s founder had two sons, Karl and Eduard. Karl Jr. ran the company from 1919 to 1939.
