The dignified standing girl against a dark background with a red curtain drawn aside in the upper corners. She wears a splendid brown overgarment with slit sleeves, decorated with golden ornaments and hoops, and a large white ruff with several golden necklaces hanging down from it. Her carefully coiffed hair also features a narrow band set with diamonds and precious stones. Her outfit thus speaks for the wealth of her family. She is clutching a small decorative scarf in her right hand. Benigna has a fine, delicate face with slightly reddened cheeks and looks curiously and innocently at the viewer of the painting.
