Accompanied by a letter by Didier Imbert, dated 28 September 2021, confirming that the work will be included in the catalogue raisonné. The landscape with cliffs is one of a series of coastal views created by the painter from 1904 onwards, such as Falaises, ca. 1904/5 (Christie’s), or Falaises de Normandie dated 1907 from the Sarasin collection, but also Falaises de Saint-Jouin from 1907 (Sotheby’s). There is another variation of the present painting, but with tiny sailing ships off the coast barely visible in the distance.
