Fiddler is a painting that the artist created with the Block Association exhibition in mind, which was presented in 1939 in London and Stockholm. However, the work was to the liking of the artist's wife, who decided that the painting would remain in the family collection. Three other works were sent to the exhibition. Due to the outbreak of war, they did not return to the country.
