Bogdan Nowakowski (Warsaw 1887 - 1945 Broniszów) illustrator, draftsman. He studied in Warsaw, Lviv and Munich. Already before the First World War, he began working with numerous satirical magazines, where he posted political and moral caricatures. In his work he liked to use female figures, and was fascinated by the finesse of the silhouette, graceful movements in both small drawings and multi-figure compositions with a fantasy and fairy-tale atmosphere. He created illustrations for numerous books, including children's books, and designed posters.He worked for "Thorns", "Kurier Świąteczny', "Marcholt", "Mucha". During World War II he made series of satirical drawings of the life of occupied Warsaw. The largest collections of his drawings are in the National Museum in Warsaw and the Museum of Caricature in Warsaw.
