Biography
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in the Department of Graphic Arts—graduating in 1971—and at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. Initially, he focused on commercial art and linocut. Since 1976, he has primarily created copperplate engravings, of which he has produced over 130 to date. In the 1990s, he also worked on series of watercolors and pastels. A recipient of numerous national and international awards, he has had dozens of solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His works are included in the collections of, among others: the National Museum; in Warsaw, Kraków, Szczecin, Gdańsk, and Poznań; the Albertina Society in Vienna; the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the NDA Gallery in Sapporo; the Pontifical Council for Culture in the Vatican; and the Museum of Art and Culture in Freiburg.
