Siestrzeńcewicz was an artist with an exceptionally solid drawing education. He studied at the City School of Decorative Arts and Drawing in Vilnius, and later in St. Petersburg, Paris and Munich, where he worked in the circle of Joseph Brandt. His drawing combined academic precision with vivid observation of everyday life.
