Visual artist, painter. Co-founder of the cult group Ładnie. His painting was initially the voice of the generation born in the 1970s, which as young people experienced strongly during the transformations of the 1980s and 1990s. Subsequent works commented critically on both the current cultural and political situation and history.
The linocut was created especially for the POLIN Museum on the occasion of the artist's solo exhibition in 2021 under the title "Such a Landscape." It was Sasnal's first monographic exhibition at a Polish institution in years. The paintings presented there, despite depicting completely ordinary scenes from life, everyday objects, contained hidden meanings and contexts. The Polish landscape is not indifferent, just like the artist's entire oeuvre.
Biography
Studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology (1992-1994), and then at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1994-1999), where he received his diploma in the painting studio of Prof. Leszek Misiak. Member of the artistic group "Ładnie". Major individual exhibitions: 1999 - One hundred pieces, Zderzak Gallery, Cracow; 1999 - Center for Contemporary Art, Warsaw.
