Warsaw 1969-1972 Sport and Tourism. Format from 17x24 cm to 17.5x25 cm, 9 notebooks of about 30 pages each (no numbering), color illustrations, soft covers. Good condition (small scuffs of covers, single small tears).
Series of nine comic books published by "Sport and Tourism" in 1969-1972, with drawings by Mieczyslaw Wisniewski (issues 1-6) and Jerzy Wroblewski (7-9). The cartoons mainly refer to the TV series The Underground Front and the film The Return of Dr. von Kniprode (both 1965). The story is set during World War II and focuses on the activities of the left-wing underground, particularly the Czwartaks unit of the People's Army, conducting combat and sabotage against the German occupiers. The penultimate two issues depict the pursuit of the former head of the Warsaw Gestapo, Helmut von Kniprode, trying to escape with a file of agents. The last part, In the Trap, is based on the cinema film The Trap (1970) and deals with the 1945 battle to take over mines in Lower Silesia and the clashes with the Werwolf.
