5 groszy 1939 from the General Government, a zinc coin from the period of German occupation, minted at the Warsaw Mint. Despite the date 1939 appearing on the coin, this type of 5-groszy coin was not put into circulation until 1943. A distinctive feature of the coin is the central hole, which distinguishes it from the pre-war 5-groszy coin of the Second Polish Republic.
This piece has been graded by NGC as a very high MS 66.
The obverse and reverse feature varied surface coloring, with roughly equal proportions of lighter and darker zinc areas. The coin shows no visible signs of corrosion, with very well-preserved detail and an attractive appearance.
A must-have for collectors of General Government coins graded by NGC.
