Aleksander Jabłonowski was a 19th-century Polish historian, ethnographer, and traveler. During his lifetime, he visited many distant places, including Palestine, Cilicia, Syria, Egypt, and the Crimea. Jabłonowski also participated in the January Uprising. He was a member of scholarly organizations such as the Society for Russian History and Antiquities in Moscow, the Nestor Historical Society in Kyiv, the Academy of Learning in Kraków, and the Royal Historical Society.
