One of the most famous novels of Polish positivism and one of Andriolli's best illustration works (woodcut illustrations reflected on the plates). "Meir Ezofowicz" is considered one of the best novels by the prominent positivist novelist. Orzeszkova conducted her own rather extensive study of Judaism and the problems of Jewish communities. In the novel, she addresses the problem of anti-Semitism and calls for cooperation, asking to reach out to all "Ezofowicz". The novel was translated into many languages and was often published with reproductions of Andriolli's illustrations.
