Kazimierz Tymieniecki (1887-1968) - Polish historian, medievalist. He was one of the founding professors of the University of Poznan (today's UAM) in 1919. For decades he shaped the local scientific community, although during the communist period he faced harassment from the authorities (including blocking the careers of his students). He specialized in the economic and social history of the Middle Ages. He was editor of the prestigious "Rocznik Historyczny" and a full member of the PAU and titular member of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
