Adolf Nauer
Adolf Nauer was born in 1893. He was a German painter associated with the artistic community of Munich, where he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts there. He was a pupil of Ludwig Löfftz, Franz von Stuck and Martin Fauerstein. In his career as a painter, he made several study trips around Europe. He painted portraits, landscapes and genre scenes, in which the inspiration of old Dutch painting is clearly visible. Most of his works deal with the everyday life of the people of Bavaria and Tyrol. Sometimes they are costumed scenes set in the 17th-century Netherlands. Nauer was a member of the Munich Artists Association, and took part in numerous exhibitions during his career. He died in 1966 in Munich.
