Franz Xaver von Pausinger was a painter, draftsman and illustrator who worked in Austria and Germany. He devoted himself to landscape and animal painting. In this work, two fawns stand in front of a wooded landscape. A great technique inspired by impressionism, with which the artist describes the play of light and shadow of the meadow, and the fur of the animals, with short and decisive brushstrokes. An attribution sheet from 1915 is pasted on the back of the canvas.
