Józef Guranowski (Warsaw 1855–1922 Warsaw) was a painter and decorator. Beginning in 1868, he studied under A. Malinowski as an apprentice in the decoration workshop of the Warsaw Government Theaters (WTR). In 1880, he became a junior decorator, and from 1891 to 1908, together with K. Klopfer, he served as chief decorator of the Warsaw Government Theaters (WTR). From 1911 onward, he devoted himself entirely to easel painting. His work was similar to that of Ch. Breslauer. He painted mainly landscapes and, less frequently, interior scenes. He worked in oil and watercolor.
