Dawid Schab
Lives and works in Bristol (UK). Studied Law, graduated in Political Science at the University of Silesia in Katowice and postgraduate in Painting in the studio of Professor Włodzimierz Karankiewicz at the Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa. He has been involved in easel painting since 1999, but drawing has accompanied him from an early age. He attended drawing and painting classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow for 2 years. He creates in oil technique on canvas and dry pastel on paper. The artist's works are characterized by very rich and bold colors, strong contrasts and play of light and shadow, which is a clear reference to the trend of colorism and expressionism. The subjects of his works are mainly still lifes, landscapes and portraits. He has participated in many solo and group exhibitions in Poland and the UK and Italy. Participant in the British TV show 9th "Landscape Artist of the Year" on SKY ARTS station. His works have been published in such publications as "Artiste i Sztuka" (No. 31), "Polish Week" (UK), "Gennaio Toscana Nuova" (Italy), "Vogue" (UK edition) he could be seen on TVP and heard on Radio Wnet and Radio Bristol(UK). He often gives to charity, donating his works to charity auctions, mainly for sick children. His works are in private collections throughout Europe, the United States, South Africa and Asia.
