One of a rare series of medals from the period before Poland regained its independence, which were produced in Wincenty Stefan Wiśniewski’s workshop in Warsaw. These were medals and badges of a patriotic nature.
This particular piece refers to Kruszwica, which during World War I served as a symbol of national unity, being regarded as the mythical cradle of the Piast dynasty.
