Provenance: from the collection of Stanislaw Adamczyk. As a 17 year old, he witnessed and "employed" in collecting the bodies of the fallen Polish soldiers of the 1st company of the 89th infantry regiment after the battles near Nosarzewo (an episode of the Battle of Mława). Seventeen bodies were collected along the dirt road to Nosarzewo and, after removing the soldiers' ordnance, were taken to the cemetery in Szydłów the next day. The Germans allowed the locals to take some items of equipment.
