Percussion rifle of Afghan origin circa 1850. The weapon has a long smooth barrel with richly decorated brass lugs and engraved details on the bascule. The lock plate is fitted with a percussion cock and decorated with fine engraved ornamentation. The stock is made of dark wood and features a characteristic curve typical of Central Asian rifles. The metal parts bear a patina corresponding to the age of the weapon, the brass applications show traditional Afghan decorative motifs.
