Lot information
Mid 19th century heavy percussion target, signed J. Andersen, Lanceland. The weapon is fitted with a long grooved barrel with a robust hook, which suggests the possibility of use as a wall mount. The trigger mechanism has a two-trigger system with an adjustable tensioner. The stock is made of solid wood with an ergonomically shaped cheekpiece. The steel fittings and lock plate show a patina consistent with the age of the weapon. The weapon is in original condition with surface traces of use, but with a non-original sight.
