Biography
Józef Kidoń began his studies in painting in Lviv in Stanisław Batowski’s studio and continued them in Amsterdam. In the 1920s, he undertook an artistic journey through Europe—visiting Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Austria. Before the outbreak of World War II, he lived in Katowice, where he painted portraits of members of the Silesian elite and gained considerable recognition. He painted primarily portraits of women, featuring soft, delicate faces and studied poses. He painted still lifes and landscapes less frequently.
