ZIRAFFES IN LOVE

The painting I am submitting for auction, "We found love in a hopeless place - giraffes in love" has a long title, but a very short and simple story. In a world of permanent malaise, two souls meet. Giraffes with their hearts, the largest among land mammals, are blandly in opposition to the surreal background, which symbolizes the material world, full of stimuli and things that are completely unnecessary. The deliberate use of earthy colors introduces a mood of peace, harmony and security. Is true love possible in such a world?
With this question I leave the viewer. The painting is my personal reflection on the power of love in an imperfect world.
My name is Katarzyna Kozlowska. If I had to describe who I am in two words, I would call myself an observer of the world. I draw and paint, and the best ideas always come to me after a hard day. But they are not black and white paintings.
I started my adventure with art a few years ago with simple pastel drawings. Since my mature head turned out to be very flexible, a while later I reached for acrylic and oil paints. My painting, choice of subject matter and the way I paint has evolved a lot over this time and continues to change. What unites my paintings is the attention to detail and color, and the subject itself is often only a complement to the fever of colors that paints itself in my head.
