Biography
Studied at the Faculty of Interior Design and Graphics of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk and at the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the poster studio of Henryk Tomaszewski. He is a graphic designer, painter, author of posters and satirical drawings. While still a student, he published drawings in "Szpilki", Warsaw's "Kultura" and other magazines. He draws with pen, pastels, makes collages, takes photographs, designs stamps and phone cards. He is the author of the Dudi bird, whose comments on the Polish reality of real socialism, alongside Andrzej Mleczko's drawings, constituted a sharp satire of the relations of the time. He also creates theatrical stage designs. In 1970-72 he stayed in London, where he collaborated with the offical magazines "OZ", "Ink", "Frendz". Since 1977 he has been in the USA. He works for such magazines as: "The New York Times", "Newsweek", "Time", "Vanity Fair", "Playboy".
