acrylic, cardboard, board, 70 x 70 cm, described and signed on the back: 'ANDRZEJ GIERAGA | WHITE AND BLACK QUADRAT | acrylic, cardboard, panel | 70 x 70 | 2007'.
Andrzej Gieraga belongs to that group of artists who, in a world of chaos and unrest,
using the language of geometry, through works of art, creates around himself
order and harmony. Since his debut, Andrzej Gieraga's artistic path has been distinguished by his
his own unique style, which is defined by balancing forms and combining
opposites into a dynamic but orderly ambiguous whole. This geometrizing
abstractionist creates such models of the world, which in his opinion,
are all the more perfect the more they are reduced to simple arrangements of forms. Thus
he rejects subjectivism in favor of universalism of expression, gets rid of literary content
literary content, in favor of the influence of plastic forms themselves, limits color
to an achromatic range between white and black.
