oil, canvas, 80 × 60 cm, signed and dated l. d.: 'Biskupska 2019'; inscribed on the reverse: 'Bożenna | Biskupska | KLATKA VI | oil on canvas | 60 x 80 | 2019'.
From 1970-72 she studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań, and from 1972-1976 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She received her diploma with honors in the studio of Tadeusz Dominik. She has exhibited her works throughout Poland and abroad. She received First Prize at the International Biennial of Miniature Weaving (1982 Savaria Museum, Hungary) and the Stanisław Wyspiański Prize for Painting and Sculpture in 1984, the same year she was awarded a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. In 2004, together with Zygmunt Rytka, she founded the In Situ Foundation for Contemporary Art, operating mainly in Warsaw and Sokolowsk. The artist explores the spaces of painting, sculpture, installation art, video and performance. Her creative path and formal explorations have their source
in figurative art explored through abstract forms, culminating in the creation of an individual language of artistic expression in the form of the multi-threaded, extended series "Delineating the Image." Leading aspects of Bożenna Biskupska's work are the issues of passing time, annexing, organizing and delineating space.
