Biography
Studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Co-founder and member of the Open Experimental Studio and the Chapel Gallery (together with Piotr Wesołowski, Agata Słowak and Szawel Płóciennik, among others). The influence of German Expressionism can be seen in his works. Deformation, vibrated line and intense colors are the most important components of Pieniak's painting, along with camp and soft-porno aesthetics. The artist takes up subjects related to his surroundings, stories he has heard or dreamt about and the landscape works are mostly Warsaw landscapes.
