Jan Szary, born in 1961 in Zakopane. He graduated from the Kenar High School of Fine Arts in Zakopane. There, he befriended Maciej Berbeka, a painter, graphic artist, and set designer at the Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz Theater. This famous Himalayan mountaineer had a huge influence on his work. Szary received his diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under Professor Leszek Wajda in the “History of Form” program, where he studied interior architecture.
He worked as an art teacher for over a decade, mentoring many young talents. The artist also creates graphic art. His works are held in private collections in Europe, as well as in the U.S. and Canada.
