Jerzy STAJUDA (1936–1992). He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology. He made his debut as a painter and critic ("Za i Przeciw") in 1957. He published, among others, in "Przegląd Artystyczny," "Więzi," "Współczesność," and "Miesięcznik Literacki." At the same time, he developed his own artistic practice. He considered Artur Nacht-Samborski his foremost mentor. Over time, he developed his own style, one that was not subject to passing fads. In both his watercolors and oil paintings, he brought to life a mysterious world of visionary structures, imaginative landscapes, and reflections of archaic vegetation. In 1993, a posthumous exhibition of his work was held at the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw.
