Biography
Jerzy (Joshua) Budziszewski Benor - painter, sculptor and photographer. Graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (he received his diploma in 1975 in Prof. Stefan Gierowski's studio). In the '70s he collaborated with Marian Bogusz and the Warsaw architectural community. He was associated with Foksal Gallery and Henryk Stażewski. In 1988 he moved to Israel, in 1994 he settled permanently in New York. He practiced easel and monumental painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. His best-known realizations of mural painting are in Krapkowice, at the train station in Minsk Mazowiecki, and at the Warsaw Railway Hospital. He was the recipient of the Prize of the Minister of Culture and Art, the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture and the Karen Tel-Aviv for lierature and Art..An important collection of his works is presented at the permanent exhibition of the National Museum in Gdansk.
