acrylic on canvas, 120 x 80 cm
A self-taught artist. He began his creative journey with work straddling the line between art and craft, creating projects using an airbrush on clothing, motorcycles, and in functional spaces. These experiences shaped his characteristic precision and distinctive sense of form.
In recent years, he has focused on easel painting, primarily using acrylics, an airbrush, and markers, often combining them in mixed media. His works are characterized by a graphic realism aesthetic, based on contrasts, the dominance of black, and a sparing use of color. These techniques build compositional tension and direct the viewer’s attention to detail and the emotional message of the image. A characteristic element of his work is the use of a monochromatic palette and strong contrasts, which give his works a distinct, almost sculptural character.
The central motifs of his work are figures of women and animals, often inspired by Japanese culture, Buddhist symbolism, and contemporary urban aesthetics. Neutral, dark backgrounds emphasize the form of the depiction and reinforce the power of the visual message.
Currently, the artist is developing his own unique style that combines classical painting techniques with spatial elements, including 3D printing, as he seeks new ways to extend the image beyond its traditional boundaries.
He participated in the Mens’Art group exhibition in Pruszków (2020) and in the Art Market (2026).
Kamil Gałka’s work focuses on finding a balance between realism and the synthetic, graphic simplification of form. The work presented here exemplifies the artist’s interest in the contemporary portrait, in which the contrast between light and shadow shapes not only the form but also the character of the depicted figure. The monochromatic palette emphasizes the timelessness of the image and enhances its expressiveness.
