Olena Horhol was born in 1994 in Ukraine. She lives and works in Wroclaw, Poland. The artist studied Textile Design at the Lviv National Academy of Arts, defending her diploma in 2015. In 2013 she spent a semester at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland. She creates minimalist landscapes, sometimes documenting reality, other times making an invisible piece visible, making it self-sufficient. The artist's works are based on the play of light and shadow, shapes, forms, colors and contrasts. She brings her experience as a textile artist to her painted works with brushstrokes that resemble threads. She has participated in many group exhibitions and plein-air events. She took part in the creation of the first painted animation film "Loving Vincent" (2016). Her works are in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Hungary and the Netherlands, among others.
