Biography
Born before World War II, he graduated from a secret high school at the school of road and bridge construction. During the occupation, he exploited his talents and contributed to building the resistance movement by forging documents. After 1945, he took up studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under the tutelage of Tadeusz Kulisiewicz. He left behind some 500 works, many of which are in the possession of his family and collectors. In his works he combined the language of geometry with realistic landscape. Richard Lech's works show a visual affinity with digital imagery. In 2013, a retrospective exhibition of his work was held at the National Museum in Gdansk.
