50,2 x 50,2cm - relief, own technique, plate signed on the reverse with a marker l.g.: MARIAN SZPAKOWSKI, KOMPOZYCJA, 1979, next to an arrow, below crossed out: No: 1246 [in circle] | 50 x 50 | 150,000, p.d. crossed out address of BWA in Bialystok and date: 1986

Geometry - it is order, it is a straight line, a circle, with the help of which I build compositions. I strive for arrangements that express the greatest emotional tension through color and the least number of plastic elements. This is because I think that the emotional charge, its depth and quality are the goal of my considerations, which I seek through fully controlled action. (B. Kowalska, Marian Szpakowski..., published by ARS POLONIA, p. 15)
