Jan II Kazimierz, Szóstak 1665 AT, Kraków – a rarer variety
Type VI (Ciura) bust.
The Ślepowron coat of arms (of Jan Kazimierz Krasiński—Grand Treasurer of the Crown) is divided by a circumferential inscription on the reverse.
On the reverse, on either side of the shield bearing the Snopek coat of arms (the coat of arms of the Vasa family), the letters A–T (the initials of Andrzej Tymf—the leaseholder of the Kraków mint).
Border bands on the obverse and reverse.
Variant with plain coats of arms.
Inscription variant featuring the king’s title IO CASIM … PO & SV M D L in the border on the obverse and … AR SEX – REG POL … in the border on the reverse—a rarer variant.
Condition: 3+
A well-struck and nicely preserved piece. A rarer variety. An attractive coin.
