A rare type of coin in a beautiful state of preservation appreciated by the note MS61. Coin in old natural patina and with mint luster.
The term "vicariate coins" comes from the privilege of the Electors of Saxony, who, after the death of the emperor, held the vicariate, that is, assumed power in the Roman-German Empire until a new emperor was elected. Vicariate coins were stylistically different from standard circulation coins. This one was minted when the office of vicar was held by the King of Poland, Elector of Saxony August III Saxony after the death of Emperor Charles VI.
