Silver. Mintage of 100 pieces. Nice old patina. One of the icons among the proof coins of the Second Republic.
The author of the design is Wojciech Jastrzębowski. He studied in Krakow and Paris, served in the Polish Legions, and participated in the defense of Lviv in 1918. In the 1920s he designed many coins - including the Banner, a five-zloty coin well known to all collectors, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the November Uprising.
A few years before the outbreak of World War II, Jastrzębowski headed the art commission that decided on the decor of the two Polish transatlantic ships MS Piłsudski and MS Batory. Among other things, he personally designed the chapels on both ships and the ladies' lounge. As a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, he promoted the idea of "art for every day and for everyone."
