Issue to commemorate Stanisław Małachowski (1736–1809), Marshal of the Four-Year Sejm (Great Sejm), one of the most distinguished Polish statesmen of the Stanisław August era and a leading architect of the reforms culminating in the adoption of the Constitution of 3 May 1791. As Marshal of the Confederated Great Sejm, he played a pivotal role in implementing the most significant political and constitutional reforms of the late eighteenth century.
The medal was designed by the renowned medallist Johann Friedrich Holzhaeusser, court medallist to King Stanisław August Poniatowski.
