Rare fundraising badge issued in return for donations made to support boarding houses for children from the Eastern Borderlands (Kresy). During the Second Polish Republic, boarding houses (bursy) played an important role in the educational system by providing accommodation and support for children and young people from less affluent families, particularly those from the Eastern Borderlands who attended schools away from their homes. Public fundraising campaigns for the maintenance of these institutions were a common form of charitable and social activity in interwar Poland.
