Rare organisational badge of the Galician Hunting Society, one of the most important hunting organisations operating in the Polish lands during the period of the partitions. The Society commenced its activities on 15 March 1876 in Lwów at the initiative of Count Włodzimierz Dzieduszycki, in response to the need to improve game management, combat poaching, and protect wildlife. Its work played a fundamental role in shaping the modern model of Polish hunting and promoting the principles of hunting ethics.
The Society carried out extensive educational and publishing activities, issuing the journal "Łowiec", commenting on hunting legislation, organising exhibitions, and promoting rational game management and nature conservation. After Poland regained its independence, the organisation adopted the name Lesser Poland Hunting Society (Małopolskie Towarzystwo Łowieckie) and continued its work as one of the country's leading hunting institutions.
