Katarzyna Stachura (born 1990 in Giżycko)
Graduated with a degree in animation from Ballyfermot College of Art in Ireland, where she simultaneously trained in sculpture under renowned portrait sculptor Alan Clarke, serving as his technical assistant.
After moving to Portugal, she continued her art education at the Ar.Co school in Lisbon, studying ceramics.
She participated in the Tijolo Amigo exhibition organized as part of the Just a Chance charity project, as well as the Mirna Bamieh exhibition in Paris, for which she created six large sculptures and plaster molds AND casts. Her works are in private collections and are presented by Galeria DeBarros in Lisbon, and are also available in selected concept stores in Portugal.
She creates mainly ceramic sculptures, often enriched with elements of mixed techniques. Her main source of inspiration is the animal world, the relationship between man and nature and the impact of human activity on the environment.
She has won the Artivism Award from Wildheart Gallery and the Talent Prize from Teravarna Gallery. She has also worked on film productions that won an Emmy Award for special effects in 2023. For the past two years, she has been associated with the Lisbon-based art collective Fabrica Moderna, where she conducts workshops on sculpture and carries out her own creative projects.
