Przebindowski Tripolis 1930 Asking price 1000 Estimate 1300 - 1400 Zdzisław PRZEBINDOWSKI 1902 Kraków - 1986 Kraków The son of painter Franciszek, he began his artistic studies in 1920-1925 at the State School of Decorative Arts and Artistic Industry in Poznań, and then - in 1925-1929 - studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Fryderyk Pautsch, Władysław Jarocki and Jan Wojnarski. The scholarship enabled him to stay in Paris for an extended period. Later he was still in Italy, stopping in Venice, Florence and Rome. He also traveled to North Africa. Even before the war, he became a drawing teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, and later - from 1945 to 1972 - served as a lecturer at the academy. The artist's oeuvre includes mainly oil painting, watercolor and printmaking. He painted landscapes, genre scenes, urban views, portraits, still lifes, flowers and nudes. His paintings are characterized by a fresh approach, broad texture, intense and vivid colors.
