A print of a religious and patriotic nature, composed around a central depiction of a map of Polish lands enclosed in a circular medallion. Arranged around the map are numerous figures of saints, monks, clergy, and martyrs, forming a symbolic procession of Poland’s patrons and intercessors. Above the entire composition, amidst a radiant glow, is an image of Our Lady of Częstochowa, the central patroness of the nation. The composition combines traditional Marian devotion with a clear patriotic message—a plea for protection over Poland.
An interesting example of Polish devotional and patriotic print art, in which a cartographic depiction of the country is used as an element of religious and national symbolism.
