Sigismund I the Old, Half-Groschen, 1518, Vilnius – MONTEA error – rare
A variant featuring Pogoń with a sword scabbard on the obverse and an eagle with its upper feathers pointing toward the eagle’s head (long neck and five feathers) on the reverse.
A punctuation variant with a colon after the date and a colon after “LITVANIE.”
Error – “… MONTEA …” instead of “… MONETA …” – rare.
Condition: 3+
Aggressively cleaned and partially under-struck in places, but a well-preserved piece. Rare error – … MONTEA. An attractive coin.
