The fifth issue of the journal “Exlibris,” founded by Franciszek Biesiadecki, published in Kraków in 1924 by the Society of Book Lovers. Starting with this issue, publication of the journal was taken over by the Society of Book Lovers in Kraków, while maintaining its existing focus on book culture in the broadest sense—its history, development, and typographic and artistic aspects. Kazimierz Piekarski served as the editor of this volume.

The contents include, among others, articles by Kazimierz Piekarski on the history of the Polish bookplate and the Mogilno incunabula, by Franciszek Biesiadecki on the bookplates of Stefan Garczyński and Daniel Chodowiecki, by Julia Mękicka on the bookplates of Władysław Witwicki, and by Kazimierz Witkiewicz on the bookplates of Stanisław Jakubowski. Particularly noteworthy are“Materials on the History of Sigismund Augustus’s Library: Series I” by Franciszek Biesiadecki and Kazimierz Piekarski, as well as Jerzy Dobrzycki’s essay “On Contemporary Bookbinding in Kraków.” In addition, the issue contains articles on historical libraries, bibliographies, Oriental manuscripts, and the activities of Polish bibliophile societies.
